Roatán's reef near West End, a short taxi from the Isla Tropicale cruise port

Diving from Isla Tropicale (formerly Mahogany Bay)

Docking at Isla Tropicale, Carnival's Roatán port (formerly Mahogany Bay)? It's a short taxi to our West End beachfront for diving, snorkeling, or a beach day.

Isla Tropicale (recently rebranded from Mahogany Bay) is Carnival’s cruise port on Roatán, on the island’s south side just east of Coxen Hole. If you’re sailing with Carnival (or a Carnival-family line), this is your port, and West End is an easy independent day trip from here.

Getting to West End

From Isla Tropicale it’s about a 20–30 minute taxi to our beachfront in the Lower West End. Take a taxi from the port (agree the fare first) and ask for the Lower West End / Sea Hunt Divers drop. We’re at the calm end of the village, right on the sand, where the road ends and the beach begins.

What to do on your stop

  • Scuba diving for certified divers on Roatán’s reefs and walls
  • Try scuba for complete beginners, no experience needed
  • A family beach day to snorkel, swim, and eat on the quiet West End sand instead of the busy West Bay resorts

Booking around your ship

Plan around your all-aboard time. Send us your ship’s name and in/out times and we’ll map a day with a comfortable buffer for the taxi back to Isla Tropicale, with gear and a spot ready when you arrive.
